Por ello inmediatamente se dirigieron hasta el lugar, donde constataron la veracidad de lo informado. El joven herido tenía 23 años y fue trasladado al Hospital Perrando de urgencia.Según las primeras averiguaciones, supieron que momentos antes el herido se encontraba en una fiesta junto a su madre. En un momento dado, se acercó un hombre de 32 años, quien sería la ex pareja de la mujer, y comenzó una discusión. El joven intervino en la misma y fue ahí cuando fue apuñalado por el sujeto en el abdomen.Ya en el hospital Perrando, los uniformados se entrevistaron con el doctor de la guardia quien les informó que Juan Fernández fue diagnosticado con herida de arma blanca en abdomen con evisceración, shock hipovolémico y paro cardíaco. Luego, alrededor de las 4.30 confirmaron que el joven había fallecido, confirmó la oficina de prensa de la policía provincial.Se dio intervención al fiscal en turno, quien dispuso que se sustancien actuaciones judiciales por supuesto homicidio. En tanto la Policía se encuentra buscando intensamente al supuesto autor y no se descarta que en las próximas horas se proceda a su aprehensión
