BRASIL SUPERA LOS 80 MIL MUERTOS POR COVID-19
El presidente Jair Bolsonaro se sigue recuperando de la enfermedad que convirtió a Brasil en el segundo país del mundo con más casos detectados y muertes por la enfermedad, detrás de Estados Unidos.
El mismo día en que Brasil superó los 80.000 muertos por coronavirus, dos ministros nacionales anunciaron que tienen covid-19, enfermedad por la cual se está recuperando en el Palacio de la Alvorada, la residencia oficial, el presidente Jair Bolsonaro.
Primero lo anunció el ministro de Ciudadanía, Onyx Lorenzoni, en Twitter, y luego su par de Educación, el flamante titular Milton Ribeiro, por la misma red social. “El jueves a la noche comencé a sentir síntomas que podrían ser de covid. El viernes me hice los exámenes, entre ellos el PCR. El resultado salió hoy y la covid fue detectada. Desde el viernes estoy siguiendo el protocolo de azitromicina, ivermectina y cloroquina, y ya siento los efectos positivos”, escribió Lorenzoni.
Ninguno de los medicamentos que mencionó el ministro tienen una eficacia científicamente comprobada frente a la covid-19 y algunos, incluso, están contraindicados en muchos países por sus efectos secundarios.
Horas después, Ribeiro, de 62 años, anunció su caso. “Acabo de recibir ahora, por la mañana, el resultado positivo de covid-19, ya tomé la medicación y trabajaré de forma remota”, comunicó el ministro que asumió el jueves pasado en una ceremonia encabezada de manera virtual por Bolsonaro, quien está en aislamiento obligatorio desde el 7 de julio, tras recibir su propio test positivo de coronavirus.
Con estos dos anuncios de ayer ascienden a cuatro los ministros del Gobierno brasileño que ya se contagiaron de la covid-19. El ministro de Seguridad Institucional, general Augusto Heleno, y Bento Albuquerque, de Minas y Energía, ya se recuperaron.
En cambio, Bolsonaro sigue enfermo. Desde que anunció que está contagiado publica en las redes sociales textos en defensa de remedios como la hidroxicloroquina, pese a que el mundo científico dice que no posee efectividad demostrada contra la covid-19. El mandatario salió incluso a saludar usando barbijo y con distancia mayor a tres metros a decenas de seguidores en el Palacio de la Alvorada, y volvió a defender en Facebook el uso de cloroquina e hidroxicloroquina.
El brote en el Gobierno nacional coincide con una aceleración de la curva de contagios en el país.
