El titular del BCRA anticipó que “la política monetaria será muy dura hasta que se reestablezca la confianza”
El nuevo presidente del Banco Central, Guido Sandleris, aseguró que “la inflación caerá”, aunque reconoció que “la política monetaria será muy dura hasta tanto se restablezca la confianza y que quede claro que la volatilidad del dólar no está más”.
El flamante funcionario sostuvo que cada vez “va haber menos pesos” para adquirir la moneda estadounidense, lo que generaría una desaceleración en el aumento de los precios.
“Entre jueves y viernes el tipo de cambio se movió más de lo que veremos en adelante. Los movimientos del dólar generan ansiedades, más con lo que pasó en estos meses y la historia argentina. Lo entendemos y no es que no nos demos cuenta. Sí creemos que para la economía argentina hay beneficios importantes de que el tipo de cambio flote”, resaltó.
En este sentido, Sandleris señaló que no cree en una cotización fija y defendió el nuevo esquema de “definir una zona amplia de no intervención”, acordada por el Gobierno y el Fondo Monetario Internacional.
“El anterior (modelo), fijar metas de inflación, convivía con factores que el Banco Central no controlaba a la hora de bajar la inflación. Ello le impedía llegar a un objetivo muy ambicioso. Ahora establecimos un objetivo que es exigente, pero que si nos esforzamos llegaremos a bajar la inflación. ¿Cuál es esa meta? Que la base monetaria no crezca”, explicó.
Sandleris señaló que el BCRA ya comenzó con “las operaciones de colocar estos títulos que se llaman Lelic y absorber pesos”, mientras que “el mercado definirá cuánto tiene que ser la tasa de interés dispuesto a cobrar” para darle al organismo monetario los pesos que tienen “que retirar” de circulación.
“Pusimos en marcha una zona de no intervención pero aún no arrancó la parte del ancla que será el no crecimiento de la base monetaria”, agregó durante una entrevista con el diario Clarín.
