El instructivo contiene 32 páginas y ofrece una serie de recomendaciones que van desde qué automóvil comprar, las formas de manejar el coche de manera eficiente y hasta plantea un modelo para controlar el gasto cotidiano.
Según el Poder Ejecutivo, adoptar los tips de una “conducción eficiente” no solo permite ahorrar energía (y dinero) en el consumo del combustible, sino que reduce los costos de mantenimiento, otorga una mayor vida útil al vehículo y permite bajar el estrés. También genera efectos positivos generales, como la reducción de emisión de gases tóxicos al ambiente y del riesgo en accidentes viales.
“Estilos de conducción y comportamiento como la aceleración, el frenado y la velocidad de conducción, la antigüedad y las condiciones de funcionamiento, los accesorios instalados en su vehículo (por ejemplo, aire acondicionado), así como factores externos (la temperatura, el clima, el tráfico y las condiciones del camino), afectan en el consumo de combustible del vehículo”, señala el manual.
Algunas de las recomendaciones sugeridas:
Velocidad. La mayoría de los autos operan con mayor eficiencia cuando viajan entre 50 y 80 km/h. Por encima de esta velocidad, los vehículos gastan más combustible. Por ejemplo, circulando a 120 km se utiliza aproximadamente un 20% más de combustible que a 100 km.
Neumáticos. Como pierden aire lentamente, se recomienda examinarlos al menos una vez por mes. El valor de la presión de fábrica es el que asegura un mínimo consumo de combustible y un mejor funcionamiento. Desinflados no sólo son peligrosos, sino que aumentan la resistencia entre los neumáticos y la calle y, además, el motor tendrá que trabajar más.
Aire acondicionado. Puede incrementar el uso de combustible hasta un 25 por ciento, lo cual equivale a un consumo extra aproximado de 300 litros por año. Cuando el vehículo circula a velocidades menores a 80 km es recomendable bajar las ventanillas y apagar el aire acondicionado.
Auto detenido, motor en marcha. Se genera un consumo aproximado de 0,4 a 0,7 litros por hora. En este sentido, es recomendable apagar el motor del auto si se va a permanecer más de 3 minutos parado.
