Coca-cola Femsa pidió al Gobierno un procedimiento preventivo de crisis (PPC) para afrontar el achicamiento de su planta embotelladora del barrio porteño de Pompeya. Hoy se realizó la primera reunión entre representantes de la empresa, del gremio y de la Secretaría de Trabajo y mañana habrá un nuevo encuentro. “La planta está prácticamente parada porque no hay ventas, no recuerdo haber pasado por una situación similar. Pero no permitiremos despidos. En este contexto no podemos permitir que ni un sólo trabajador se quede sin empleo”, dijo a Página/12 Pablo Fernández, secretario general de la seccional porteña del Sindicato de Trabajadores de Aguas Gaseosas y Afines. Por su parte, la rama de aguas y gaseosas del sindicato de Camioneros se declaró “en estado de alerta y movilización”. En la planta de Pompeya de la avenida Amancio Alcorta trabajan 600 personas, de un total de 3 mil que están empleadas por Coca-cola Femsa en Argentina. La firma también tiene otra embotelladora en Monte Grande (Esteban Echeverría) y cuatro centros de distribución. Además, trabajan para Coca-cola otras empresas embotelladoras.
La venta de bebidas es uno de los segmentos del consumo masivo más afectados por la situación económica, aunque la magnitud de Coca-cola Femsa obliga a pensar el caso con parámetros propios, en línea con lo sucedido con los preventivos de crisis de la filial local del gigante Carrefour y de Fate, una de las empresas de Javier Madanes Quintanilla. El PPC permite aplicar modificaciones drásticas en la organización laboral y trasladar los costos de esos cambios sobre las espaldas de sus trabajadores. Por eso los gremios advierten sobre el avance de una reforma laboral por empresa.
“Coca-Cola Femsa Argentina está atravesando una etapa compleja debido a la desaceleración del consumo, lo que la ha colocado en la necesidad de readecuar su estructura de trabajo. La Compañía presentó un procedimiento preventivo de crisis para su planta del barrio de Nueva Pompeya. Dicho procedimiento seguirá el curso que establecen las normas aplicables”, difundió la firma.
Las últimas comunicaciones de Coca-cola y de Femsa a sus inversores ya daban indicios de la decisión. La información contable del último trimestre de 2018 para Coca-cola global registra en el párrafo dedicado a América latina que “el volumen de ventas cayó un 2 por ciento en el trimestre ya que a pesar del crecimiento en Brasil, Colombia y Perú, la operación en Argentina tuvo una baja de dos dígitos”. En tanto, con el balance del tercer trimestre, Femsa comunicó a sus inversores que “a partir del 1 de julio de 2018, Argentina es reportada como una subsidiaria hiperinflacionaria”. En los tres primeros trimestres de 2018, las ventas de Femsa en Argentina medidas en volumen bajaron un 9,8 por ciento interanual y los ingresos medidos en pesos mexicanos se redujeron un 46 por ciento por efecto conjunto de caída del consumo y a la fuerte devaluación del peso.
La Secretaría de Trabajo comunicó que “Coca cola-Femsa realizó un pedido de PPC. En el día de hoy se desarrolló una primera reunión donde los representantes de Femsa expusieron la situación de la empresa. El día viernes se realizará un nuevo encuentro para analizar cuáles son las alternativas existentes y el camino a seguir”. Los directivos “enmarcaron dificultades en el funcionamiento de atención en la bodega de la planta y en el turno de una de las líneas de producto”, indicaron a este diario fuentes de la negociación.
Pablo Fernández, titular de la seccional porteña del gremio de trabajadores de empresas gaseosas asistió a la primera reunión en la cartera laboral y contó a Página/12 que “vamos a ver cuáles son las medidas que quiere tomar la empresa”. “Es un momento muy difícil. La gente no tiene plata y no compra gaseosas y la planta de Pompeya está parada, no recuerdo una situación similar. Los trabajadores y los repositores se dan cuenta, ven que no hay ventas y de 8 líneas de producción sólo una está activa. De todas formas, no vamos a permitir ningún despido”, agregó Fernández.
El Sindicato de Camioneros advirtió sobre “un preventivo de crisis falso”. “El sindicato ya venia reclamando en contra del trabajo informal. La rama de aguas y gaseosas se declara en estado de alerta y movilización en rechazo a esta medida que toma una de las empresas más beneficiadas por el gobierno actual”, agregó el gremio. El Gobierno benefició a la empresa con la marcha atrás del impuesto a las bebidas azucaradas a fines de 2017.
El último reporte de la consultora Scentia registró una caída interanual del consumo masivo del 7,3 por ciento en enero. La categoría de peor desempeño fue bebidas sin alcohol, con una merma del 14,1 por ciento.
